Baby kitten for Christmas

well it's love.

Allie and her new kitten are smitten. ;) She was so surprised and excited when she woke up Christmas morning. I carried her into our bedroom and when the door opened she saw baby Gracie sitting on our bed meowing at her. She threw her hands up and said " A KITTY!"

I decided her name should be Grace or Gracie because of a moment on the drive home from picking her up Christmas eve. This is the story....

Well we had been talking about getting a kitten for months, and every time I saw a picture on craigslist or heard of a friend that had kittens to give away I'd ask Shaun, " honey, look how cute! can we?" the answer was always, "we need to wait until the floors are done". It was always true, we did really need to wait. Mommy didn't like waiting much , lol. So finally when we had a confirmed day when the guy was going to come and put the seal, and finish coat on the other half of our house in order to finish it all up, of course I began looking and I think it took me all of 2 days to find the perfect little one (because of course Allie wanted one that looked similar to the cat at daycare, lol). So with about a million calls back and fourth to the girl who posted the craigslist add trying to schedule when kitty would get to the vet and when we could pick her up I was finally driving out to get her on Christmas eve. I finally arrived and she was beautiful, adorable, sweet, innocent, and ours! On the 30min drive home I was just in heaven watching her sleeping in her carrier, she was so clam and sweet I couldn't believe she wasn't fussing more. The weather was very nice that morning it was clear and sunny (still cold) but sun shining! Then as I neared home still on the freeway in the middle of a stretch of beautiful tree's it began to rain lightly, and being a believer I always look around for a rainbow when it's sunny and raining. As I looked around I didn't see one at first, but then after I cleared some of the heavier trees there it was, and not only a single rainbow but a beautiful double rainbow! It was extremely bright and clear, it was just a perfect moment. I looked down at the little baby next to me and thought what a sweet moment and this should be her name... .but what? rainbow? that's kinda "happy" ie: other word for happy connected to rainbow lol and then I thought ok what does a rainbow stand for? Promise. It's God's sign of His promise to us to never flood the earth again. Then I thought Promise that's a weird name for a cat... then I thought ok so what does His promise mean? Well the next thing that came to mind was that it's only by God's grace that we are saved and the meaning of the rainbow specifically is that we are saved from another flood, spared, pardoned, forgiven, and loved. So there it was, she would be called Grace. (or Gracie if you ask Allie ;) I felt it deep down in my heart in that moment and just knew. So with that said here's some of the first pictures of baby Grace.
