Baby kitten for Christmas

well it's love.

Allie and her new kitten are smitten. ;) She was so surprised and excited when she woke up Christmas morning. I carried her into our bedroom and when the door opened she saw baby Gracie sitting on our bed meowing at her. She threw her hands up and said " A KITTY!"

I decided her name should be Grace or Gracie because of a moment on the drive home from picking her up Christmas eve. This is the story....

Well we had been talking about getting a kitten for months, and every time I saw a picture on craigslist or heard of a friend that had kittens to give away I'd ask Shaun, " honey, look how cute! can we?" the answer was always, "we need to wait until the floors are done". It was always true, we did really need to wait. Mommy didn't like waiting much , lol. So finally when we had a confirmed day when the guy was going to come and put the seal, and finish coat on the other half of our house in order to finish it all up, of course I began looking and I think it took me all of 2 days to find the perfect little one (because of course Allie wanted one that looked similar to the cat at daycare, lol). So with about a million calls back and fourth to the girl who posted the craigslist add trying to schedule when kitty would get to the vet and when we could pick her up I was finally driving out to get her on Christmas eve. I finally arrived and she was beautiful, adorable, sweet, innocent, and ours! On the 30min drive home I was just in heaven watching her sleeping in her carrier, she was so clam and sweet I couldn't believe she wasn't fussing more. The weather was very nice that morning it was clear and sunny (still cold) but sun shining! Then as I neared home still on the freeway in the middle of a stretch of beautiful tree's it began to rain lightly, and being a believer I always look around for a rainbow when it's sunny and raining. As I looked around I didn't see one at first, but then after I cleared some of the heavier trees there it was, and not only a single rainbow but a beautiful double rainbow! It was extremely bright and clear, it was just a perfect moment. I looked down at the little baby next to me and thought what a sweet moment and this should be her name... .but what? rainbow? that's kinda "happy" ie: other word for happy connected to rainbow lol and then I thought ok what does a rainbow stand for? Promise. It's God's sign of His promise to us to never flood the earth again. Then I thought Promise that's a weird name for a cat... then I thought ok so what does His promise mean? Well the next thing that came to mind was that it's only by God's grace that we are saved and the meaning of the rainbow specifically is that we are saved from another flood, spared, pardoned, forgiven, and loved. So there it was, she would be called Grace. (or Gracie if you ask Allie ;) I felt it deep down in my heart in that moment and just knew. So with that said here's some of the first pictures of baby Grace.

It's the thursday before the friday... well duh.

So ya friday will be nice to get to and get over with, hahaha. I'll have a half day friday because of our company Christmas party at noon that day. And then the EXTREMELY busy weekend begins! as of about now (11:ooam) our floors should be sealed and coated with the finish and nicely drying! HOOOO RAWW!!! finally! you can say that again! ok.... I will! FINALLY! Criminy it took so long! I'm soooooooooo HAPPY! we've been waiting for this for so long, and have worked soooo hard on it, the pay off will be SWEET. :) It's going to be a race against time to get the house in order for Christmas day at our house with the whole family!

Friday night : buy paint at home depot, paint all the trim in our bedroom, the hall, and the bottom trim in Allie's room. Shaun is redoing the closets in our room so that it's more efficient since it's currently the size of a Honey bucket port-o-potty. (not much too it) lol. It won't be getting any bigger that's for sure but he's going to add shelves and redo the hanging rods to be more efficient! yay for handymen! Then move all the furniture from the other side of the house back into the bedrooms and also get most if not all of the rest of our junk that's been sitting in the garage into the house finally. Then set up the dinning room table and chairs again, and pretty much deep clean the house. Then wrap all the presents stashed in the coat closet. Then die of exhaustion. ;)

Should be interesting, I'll let you know if we succeed! :) OH and I almost forgot! pick up a new baby kitten for a surprise Christmas present for Allie (and mommy, who secretly wants it more than Allie, hehehe) YAY!!! we can't wait!

Merry Christmas everyone! May God Bless your families with fellowship and love this Christmas!

Needed to post...

Something.

I haven't posted in a while cause I haven't been very motivated.... Some day's I feel chatty and some days I just don't. More often than not I don't feel all that chatty hence the not wanting to post with out a picture along with it. So... ya this is me posting with out a pic. Extremely interesting huh? Let's see we got Christmas lights up at the house, re-arranged the living room for a tree, got the tree, decorated the tree. Now to finish Christmas shopping, yay.

I guess that's about it.... hope I have satisfied the blogging community out there, lol.

I'll post more when I have some pics or something worth ranting about ;)

Ice Skating!

We took Allie ice skating for her first time last weekend, and she had a blast! :) She did pretty good, I thought she'd be more scared, but she wasn't. She kept wanting me to hold both her hands and she'd just kinda hang from me (which was hard by the way) and so she wasn't keeping her skates on the ice a lot, she was just having fun I think. ;) She did let me pull her and keep her skates down quite a lot, she skated for almost 30 mins straight! Needless to say mommy, daddy and grandma were very tired and soar after only 30 mins cause none of us had been skating in a very long time! But we had fun and got a couple cute pictures!

Allie likes Sadie's little house more than Sadie does...

So I saw this cute little thing in a magazine and i thought Sadie would like it... nope. She won't go in it at all, lol. We've put her toy's in there, we've but a blanket she likes to lay on in it, we've put treats in there and even then trying to get her toys and treats out she carefully edges in and reaches her neck as far as she can so she doesn't have to go in all the way and gets her toy or treat and scoots out backwards as if there was a bear in there! lol

But Allie liked it... she got right in there and in the one picture you can see she's trying to drag Sadie in by her collar! That's a no no! we try to keep her from pulling on Sadie but this was pretty cute. ;) So maybe eventually Sadie will like it right?

Disney Princess's on Ice

We took Allie to this show because my boss got a great deal on tickets from one of her connections through work, otherwise the tickets would have been upwords of 60-80 dollars each. but ours were only 35/ea! And they were awesome seats not far from the ice! Allie absolutly loved it! My mom and I took her, and it was great girls day out!

Here's some pictures....
